Thank you President Clinton for bringing home the two journalists from North Korea. What a guy!
Update next morning: What a reunion that was! I was glad the media wasn’t too intrusive, that the reuniting of the families was low-key and personal, even though we all got to see it. Hanna Lee, Euna’s daughter, looked absolutely blissed out in her mother’s arms. Some kids get mad when their mothers disappear, and have even been known to hit them or refuse to talk to them. But Hanna was just plain happy. It’s so great to see good news once in awhile. And the sight of Clinton-Gore evoked memories of better times in America. Sigh.

And thanks to Al Gore for initiating the talks and the exchange and getting Bill to go to Korea. And thanks to Obama for letting him go as a non-government representative (yea, right). And thanks for opening dialogue with a US Enemy…diplomacy can actually do good? who knew?
